Traders in Ojuwoye market, Mushin Lagos has expressed concern over the growing piles of waste in the market and the health risks involved.
The traders thereby urged the Lagos state waste management authority to proffer a solution to this by ensuring that the waste heaps are cleared at least twice a day to prevent an overflow.
Some of the traders who has a stall in the foodstuffs section of the market complained bitterly as the dumping ground is close to the section thereby resulting to a major health risk for both the sellers and the buyers.
Other traders in the market suggested that all the traders and market users needs to be educated about the importance of proper waste disposal and proper waste management resources should also be made available to see to this effect.
