
The Nigeria Senior Women’s Volleyball Team
The Nigeria senior women’s volleyball team will battle Kenya in one of the quarter-final games of the 2023 Women’s African Volleyball Tourney in Yaounde, Cameroon.
Nigeria finished the Group Stage on a losing note to Algeria but still managed to book her place in the last 8 of the 21st edition of the biennial international volleyball tournament organized by the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB).

The Senior Women’s Volleyball Team in Action
Both Nigeria and Kenya will clash on Tuesday for a place in the semis by 4 pm Nigerian time.
A total of 12 teams are taking part in the tournament. They include hosts in Cameroon, Algeria, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Egypt, Kenya, Lesotho, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria, Uganda, and Rwanda.
Home side, Cameroon is looking to defend the trophy they won in 2021 in Kigali, Rwanda, after beating Kenya 3-1 sets (25-21, 25-23, 15 -25, and 25-23) in the final.
In other Quarter-Final fixtures set for Tuesday, 22nd August, pool A conquerors Egypt will battle Uganda in the early kick-off by noon, while East Africans Rwanda battle North Afrcans, Algeria by 2 pm, and the defending Champions Cameroon will try to see off, another North African side in Morrocco by 6 pm in the late Kickoff, after Nigeria’s game against Kenya by 4 pm.

The top three teams of the tournament will qualify for the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship as the CAVB representatives.
