A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State, Mr Olumide Akinrinlola has condemned former President Olusegun Obasanjo for allegedly insulting some monarchs in Oyo State.
Mr Olumide Akinrinlola noted that there was need for the former president to write a letter of apology to the traditional rulers. The PDP chieftain in his reaction revealed that being a governor or president does not make one bigger than the royal fathers who are symbols of their communities.
In a related development, the Council of Obas and Chiefs in Oyo state, heavily condemned the act carried out by the former President, who was a guest of Governor Seyi Makinde.
The former President, Olusegun Obasanjo at a state project inauguration in Oyo state on Friday, commanded traditional rulers to stand up and after they complied, he then ordered them to sit down.
The members of the Oyo State Council of Obas described themselves as law-abiding citizens, and were just acting on respect for protocols.
