Luis Suarez has dropped a hinted that he could retire from professional football soon. The striker had left the Brazilian side at the end of the 2023 season having hit 24 goals and provided 17 assists in 52 games in all competitions.
Suarez, now a free agent and on the lookout for a new club however makes a shocking reveal of retiring from the profession.
Luis Suarez admitted that he is so sore from playing football that he cannot even play the sport with his son.
The 36 year old former liverpool player likewise said “I can feel pain, my body is speaking for me,”. “I want to enjoy and then decide for myself after a long career. I need to rest, enjoy my family… then the destiny will know where I’ll be in the future.”
Suarez added that he is so sore in the mornings he doesn’t think he’ll be able to play football on a smaller scale in a few years, even with his son.
“I have to think that in maybe five years I won’t be able to play 5-a-side football with my friends,” Suarez said. “The truth is that the first steps in the morning are very painful. Anyone who sees me thinks it’s impossible for me to play a game. My son tells me asks to play with him and I can’t.”
The Uruguayan added that before each match, he has to take three pills and an injection just to be able to perform. If he does not do that, he won’t be able to play and, at times, walk properly.
Hence, Lionel Messi reunion is now in danger of not happening following Suarez’s comments after scoring in his side’s win over Vasco da Gama.
