With the dust now settled on the Osun State Governorship Election, attention has shifted to Governor Ademola Adeleke’s second term in office, which begins with the expected swearing-in/inauguration ceremony on November 27, 2026.
Amid high expectations and anticipation among the people, an Accord Party chieftain, Hon. Jamiu Olawumi, has identified key priority areas for Governor Ademola Adeleke in his second term.
Hon. Olawumi, in an exclusive interview with Noble News, said the Governor Adeleke-led Accord government will prioritise investment in education, ICT, and internal security and inter-community harmony.
Olawumi further disclosed that Governor Adeleke, in his second term, will complete the Osun Free Trade Zone, initiated by former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola in 2007/2008.
He said, “Osun Free Trade Zone will come alive. Governor Oyinlola started it about 15, 16 years ago, and we are going to complete it. There will be more jobs, more industrial investments in Osun State.
“And asides that, we are going to recruit teachers; we are going to recruit about 4,000 teachers, as soon as our economy gets improved. Then, we’re going to do investments in ICT because that drives the economy globally now. We have started it; we are going to complete it.
“And we are monitoring towns and cities so that there won’t be communal strife. So those are the immediate hanging fruits that our people will enjoy.”
Hon. Olawumi said Governor Adeleke had recorded some achievements during his first term, which earned him the trust of voters for a second term, including the payment of salary arrears and the execution of road infrastructure projects, among others.
